
Russia: World's largest Russian flag unveiled in Moscow
The world's largest Russian flag was unfurled at Moskvich Stadium in Moscow Wednesday to upcoming mark Russia Day. The flag is over 1,000 square metres (10,764 square feet) in size.
Exact measurements of the flag are 26 metres (28.43 yards) wide by 40 metres (43.75 yards)in length, for a total of 1,052 square metres (11,324 square feet). Over 100 members of the Honour Guard Battalion of the Preobrazhensky Regiment carried the massive flag out along with the flags of the 86 regions of Russia.
On Thursday, which marks Russia Day itself, the flag will be delivered for permanent storage to the Museum of the Great Patriotic War at Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow.
