
Ukraine: Nuland offers US backing, $48m for Kiev
United States Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland held a press conference during a visit to Kiev on Tuesday, where she expounded on her country's support for new President Poroshenko, and reiterated that the US is offering a further $48 million (€35m) in aid.
Nuland also restated the position of her government that there are no plans to install missile defences within the borders of Georgia.
