Brazil: Sao Paulo subway strikers clash with police
Riot police clashed with subway workers at Ana Rosa underground station in Sao Paulo on Friday, as the city's transportation system faced a second day of strikes.
Police broke up a group of around 50 striking subway workers who had blocked commuters from getting to the trains. The strike action disrupted three of the city's five subway lines, leaving lengthy queues for buses and sparking record traffic with 251 km (156 miles) of vehicles snaking through the city.
The strike comes less than a week before 10 million people are expected to pour into the city for the FIFA World Cup.
