      USA: Gumball 3000 glamour hits Ocean Drive

      Vamped up Lamborghinis, Ferraris, McLarens, Jaguars, Rolls-Royces took to the starting in Miami's Ocean Drive on Thursday for the start of the 2014 Gumball 3000 ''Miami 2 Ibiza' rally. About 120 cars will make their way to Atlanta for the next leg of the event, before eventually ended up in Ibiza on June 11.

      Among the celebrities present for the start of the rally was the DJ Deadmau5 (Joel Thomas Zimmerman) and chef Keith Lorren. Sponsors include such diverse companies as MTV, Krispy Kreme, and Russian dating website Anastasia Date.

      The annual rally, which began in 1999, last came to Miami in 2009. The entry fee for competitors is 40,000 British pounds (€49,230; $67,250)
