Germany: Elephant oracle predicts World Cup results
Hanover's 'Serengeti Park' elephant Nelly demonstrated her talents at match prediction on Wednesday, when she turned her efforts to the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
Her initial predictions included a positive outlook for the German team, who the elephant predicted would tie in their first game against Portugal and then win the next two matches.
Describing her as an oracle, manager of the wildlife park Fabrizio Sepe said that Nelly accurately predicted 30 of 33 matches during the women's 2006 World Cup, the men's 2010 World Cup and the men 2012 European Championships.
Former German goalkeeper Sepp Maier said that he predicted the same outcome as Nelly, and that this would take them to the next round of the game.
