An anti-coup protest turned violent in Bangkok Wednesday afternoon, when a group of around 150 people strayed from their marching route to move closer to a unit of 15 Thai Royal Army soldiers.
Protesters pelted plastic bottles and garbage at the military and their SUV, until the soldiers retreated from the scene. Military police tried to resolve the situation but were themselves forced to retreat from the area.
