USA: Santa Barbara students mourn murdered classmates
Thousands of students and faculty from the University of California Santa Barbara came together on Tuesday for a memorial service marking the passing of friends and classmates murdered last week. Six people were killed, and 13 others injured during a series of attacks carried out by a disgruntled city college student.
The university cancelled all classes on Tuesday as a mark of respect for the victims of the brutal attack.
Killer Elliot Rodger, who was not a student at the university, shot and stabbed people at several locations across the town of Isla Vista. Rodger, who is believed to have sent copies of a typed manifesto to family members, friends and media organisations before embarking on the attacks, was found dead in his vehicle by police.
