
France: Le Pen calls for "dissolution of the National Assembly"
Marine le Pen held a press conference on Tuesday at the National Front headquarters in Nanterre as a debrief following the results of the EU elections. Marine le Pen asked for the dissolution of the National assembly and potentially another presidential election.
Le Pen also requested an end to the negotiations with Turkey regarding its entry to the EU, the partial nationalization of the French enterprise Alsthom, and A French veto on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) treaty.
The National Front took 25% of the votes in last Sunday's European elections, giving them 24 seats in the European Parliament. They also won control of the town of Hénin-Beaumont in recent municipal elections.
