
Ireland: Sheep shearing Olympics bring thousands to Wexford
Thousands of sheep enthusiasts flocked to Wexford on Sunday for the Golden Shears World Sheep Shearing Championships finals.
The event, which is dubbed the Olympics of sheep shearing, attracted participants and spectators from around the world, including from South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. The championship is held for four days, with more than 300 competitors shearing over 6,000 sheep.
The world blade shearing teams finals took place in the afternoon, after the venue was evacuated due to a health and safety issue.
