Ukraine: Tymoshenko talks elections with Albright
A day before the presidential elections in Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko, the Barkivshina party’s candidate, discussed the situation in the country with Madeline Albright, former US Secretary of State and current chair of the National Democratic Institute, in Kiev on Saturday.
Albright arrived in Ukraine with the National Democratic Institute’s international team of observers, who will keep their eye on Sunday's election.
Tymoshenko said that the Ukrainian authorities won't let anyone disrupt the presidential elections, that are planned for Sunday. She added that Ukraine needs international support "as never before" and is ready to integrate into European society.
Madeline Albright praised Kiev authorities for their preparations for the elections and expressed her hope that the turnout will be large.
