Pakistan: Thousands of Christians protest slum eviction notice
Thousands of Christians braved the sweltering heat to protest outside the National Press Club against the government decision to vacate the slum areas in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Around 50,000 Christians are residents of the affected areas, which authorities have claimed serve as hide-outs for terrorists and criminals and therefore need to be cleared.
Protesters have warned that they will rally again in larger numbers if the orders are not cancelled by May 28.
