Kazakhstan: All smiles as Expedition 39 crew experiences gravity again
Three International Space Station crewmembers exited their Soyuz capsule after touching down in Dzhezkazgan, Kazakhstan on Wednesday, as Expedition 39 drew to a close.
Commander Koichi Wakata of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, Flight Engineer Rick Mastracchio of NASA and Soyuz commander Mikhail Tyurin of Roscosmos had been in space for 188 days.
The Expedition 39 mission is only the third to be led by neither a NASA or Roscosmos crew member. Expedition 39 was Wakata and Mastracchio's fourth time in space, while it was the third for Tyurin.
