      Spain: Politician Isabel Carrasco for Popular Party shot dead on the street

      The head of the provincial council in, Leon Isabel Carrasco, was shot dead in the city on Monday.

      Police have reportedly arrested one woman over the death. Carrasco was a member of the ruling Popular Party.

      Following the incident, the Popular Party has cancelled events tied to the European Parliament election campaign, as have the opposition Socialist Party.
