      Ukraine: 97.5 percent voted 'yes' in Donetsk referendum - election official

      Head of the Slavyansk electoral commission, Lidia Viktorovna Bartashevich, spoke about the results of the Donetsk region referendum in Slavyansk, Monday.

      Bartashevich said that 72.1 percent of people voted, and out of this number 97.5 percent voted 'Yes', 1.8 per cent voted 'No', and 0.7 percent of votes were invalid.

      She added that there were minor issues with telephone connections and transportation due to check-points, but that the referendum proceeded without complaints from any side.
