USA: United We Stand fest kicks off in LA

More than 3,000 people flocked to the Belasco Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday for the United We Stand festival.

The line-up of the festival includes artists such as the Wu-Tang hip hop clan, L.A.X and rapper Immortal Technique, and speakers such as RT journalist Abby Martin and former 2012 Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stain. One of the most awaited speakers, Larry King, failed to attend the event, as did hip hop band Public Enemy.

United We Stand gathers artists, journalists and politicians to "unite and empower young voters", and promote music as a means of activism. The admission to the festival was free, after a last-minute shift in location from its planned UCLA venue.
