Russia: Putin pushes forward with economic growth strategy
Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the need to push forward with economic renewal as expressed in presidential orders issued in May 2012, despite slowing growth indicators, during a meeting of the country's economic monitoring board in Moscow on Wednesday.
The Presidential Commission for Monitoring Targeted Socioeconomic Development Achievement Indicators is designed to allow top government officials and civil servants to report on the performance of fiscal policy measures.
Putin also stressed that achievement of the May 2012 goals would enhance prospects for millions of Russian citizens.
