Kazakhstan: Satellites hitch ride on Proton-M for trip to space
A Russian Proton-M carrier rocket blasted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan Monday, carrying Luch-5V and KazSat-3 satellites. The Luch-5V and KazSat-3 spacecraft are telecommunications data relay satellites.
The Luch-5V becomes the third in a series of four satellites designed for relaying information to ground-based stations in Russia. The KazSat-3 will provide various communications services in Kazakhstan.
