Ukraine: 14 injured as football fans clash with pro-Russia protesters
At least 14 people were injured Sunday when supporters of football clubs Dnipro and Metalist clashed with around 300 pro-Russia protesters in the Ukrainian city of Kharkov. Two law enforcement officers were also said to be injured.
Some local media estimated that up to 5,000 "ultras" joined about 250 pro-Kiev demonstrators, and clashed with the pro-Russia supporters while on their way to Metalist stadium. The football supporters, some equipped with torches, were said to have chanted "Glory to Ukraine. Glory to heroes!" and "Ukraine above all!" while marching.
