Ukraine: Checkpoint near Slavyansk is set on fire

A checkpoint set up by pro-federalisation activists was set on fire at the Lzyum road in the Slavyansk suburbs on Thursday. The checkpoint is nicknamed Kombikorm (Compound feed) as it's located near the Compound feed factory close to the city.

Eyewitnesses claim that several units of "military hardware" approached the checkpoint in the morning. Those present at the checkpoint allege that the Ukrainian army soldiers and military units approached, set the checkpoint on fire and withdrew again.

Pro-federalisation activists were seen guarding other checkpoints which were set up at roads leading to the city of Slavyansk, such as the BZS checkpoint near the north-eastern suburb of the city.
