      India: Kashmiri protesters rain fire on security forces

      Pro-independence protesters clashed with security forces in Srinagar, Kashmir, on Saturday. Marching through the streets, the protesters held torches as security forces blocked their path, which led to the latter using the torches as missiles.

      Several of the protesters were arrested after throwing the projectiles at security forces, who gave chase.

      The protesters are opposed to the 2014 Indian general elections, and are calling for a regional boycott. One of the protesters carried a sign reading, "Safeguard Sacrifices and Honour of your Martyrs, Boycott Elections."
