Japanese carmaker Mazda rolled out their 2015 special edition of their iconic MX-5 Miata at the New York International Auto Show on Thursday.
The new model's world debut celebrates the nameplate's 25th anniversary and is based on the third-generation MX-5. The new Miata is notable for its metallic red paint exterior, black A-pillars and gunmetal grey 17-inch aluminium wheels.
The car's interior boasts almond tinted leather trim seats and black leather on the steering wheel, hand brake lever, transmission surround and armrests. The car is also fitted with aluminium pedals, and satin finish on some of the dashboard elements.
Mazda's 2015 release is also featuring slimmer headlights and a bolder chrome-trimmed grille. The go power comes from a SkyActiv-tuned 4-cylinder engine, with a 1.5 and 2.0-litres available.
Only 100 prototypes will be distributed in the United States, heralding the prototype as an exclusive collectors item. Mazda introduced their very first generation MX-5 Miata at the Chicago Auto Show February 9, 1989.
