USA: Sexy Chevy Corvette Stingray to premier in Russia

Chevrolet unveiled its special edition 2015 Corvette Z06 Convertible, to be available in Russia for the first time, at the New York International Auto Show on Thursday.

This special edition of the Corvette Stingray, based on the hard top brother Z06, is the most powerful Corvette convertible to date and is boasting a dual option transmission, which is unusual for the super sport class.

Corvette product manager for Chevrolet Harlan Charles said that "these cars are going to be available with both 7-speed manual with rev-matching, or an all new 8-speed paddle shift automatic, for the first time in the Z06 model that you can get that type of transmission. It makes us one of the few people that are offering choices of transmission in super car level of performance like this."

General Motors, of which Chevrolet is a part, has been pushing to expand its brand in Russia, targeting a much younger demographic than it does in Europe.
