Slovakia: Ministers discuss sending gas to Ukraine
Slovakian and Ukrainian officials met Tuesday in Kapusany, where they discussed reversing the flow of natural gas to Ukraine. The meeting took place at the gas pumping station of Velke Kapusany near the Ukrainian border, and was attended by officials including Minister of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine Yuriy Prodan and Slovak Minister of Economy Tomas Malatinsky.
Russian energy company Gazprom recently raised the price Ukraine must pay for gas by 80 percent, following four years of subsidized gas prices. Ukraine's Naftogas currently owes Moscow some USD $2.2 billion (1.6 billion EUR) in gas debt.
