USA: Senator Ted Cruz commends US blocking of Aboutalebi's visa

Texas senator Ted Cruz spoke on the topic of Iranian-nominated ambassador to the UN, Hamid Aboutalebi during a press conference held at the Freedom Summit in Manchester, New Hampshire on Saturday.

Cruz commended the cooperation of Republicans and Democrats in blocking the ability of "a known acknowledged terrorist" living in New York with diplomatic immunity, following the US denial of Aboutalebi's visa.

Aboutalebi has refuted being involved in the 1979 hostage crisis, other that working as a translator at the US embassy in Tehran.
