Tajikistan: Russia appreciates China's support over Crimea - Shoigu
Russia appreciates China's support during ongoing tensions in Crimea, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said Tuesday in Khujand, Tajikistan. His words came while speaking with Chinese Minister of Defence and State Councillor Chang Wanquan on the sidelines of a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Defence Ministers.
Shoigu also said the main issue on the agenda was the situation in Crimea and Ukraine. He added that Russia considers events in Kiev to be an 'anti-constitutional' seizure of power similar to events during the Arab Spring.
The SCO was founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
