Ukraine: Police search Pravy Sektor occupied Dnipro Hotel after shooting
Policemen surround the Pravy Sektor occupied Dnipro hotel in central Kiev on Monday, following a shooting nearby on Khreschatik street that was reported to police at 19:56 local time (18:56 CEST).
Interior Minister Arsen Avakov stated it was a Pravy Sektor member who opened fire. Three people were injured, among them Kiev city administration Deputy Chief Bogdan Dubas.
After the incident the shooter was blocked inside Mafia cafe at European square, and was later taken away by Pravy Sektor activists to their unofficial HQ at the Dnipro hotel. The suspect was turned into the police and detained when the officers arrived. The police surround the hotel, as they continue to search for people inside the hotel who are reportedly carrying illegal arms.
