Belgium: Security tight for Xi Jinping’s Brussels visit

Security has been tightened around the Sheraton Hotel in central Brussels as the Belgian capital prepares to receive Chinese President Xi Jinping, Sunday.

Xi Jinping is scheduled to arrive at Brussels airport on Sunday morning where he will be welcomed by Prime Minister of Belgium Elio di Rupo. During his three-day visit Xi Jinping is due to meet with EU leaders to discuss a Chinese initiative for a multi-billion-dollar free-trade deal with the EU.

Xi Jinping will also visit two panda bears loaned to Belgium by China, at a wildlife park near Brussels.
