Egypt: Fierce clashes erupt leaving one dead
One person was killed and at least eight injured in Cairo Wednesday when Muslim Brotherhood supporters clashed with security forces near Cairo University. The protest was in reaction to the conviction of over 500 Muslim Brotherhood supporters who now face the death penalty for their part in disturbances following the ouster of Mohamed Morsi.
The clashes erupted when protesters tried to move their protest from the university campus to the Al-Nahda square, but were stopped by security forces. The students threw stones and shot fireworks at the police, while police responded with tear gas.
