Russia: The Russian and Ukrainian officials the US wants to sanction

The Office of the Press Secretary in Washington DC released a US Executive order on Monday, signed by President Barack Obama, forbiding any transactions with eleven officials from Russia and Crimea who, according to the White House, are contributing to the unstable situation in Ukraine.

Among those targeted by the sanctions were Russian government figures including Valentina Matviyenko, Chairman of the Russian Federation Council, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin and Vladislav Surkov, an aide to President Putin. Crimean and Ukrainian figures were also targets, such as Sergei Aksyonov, Prime Minister of Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, the speaker of the Crimean parliament and Viktor Yanukovych, the President of Ukraine.

The executive order explicitely callled for the properties and interests of the Russian officials to be blocked, stating that any US person or foreign branch in the US may not transfer, pay, export, withdraw, or otherwise deal with the officials. Those named have also been banned from traveling to the United States of America.
