      Turkey: Warring Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce fans turn streets into a battlefield

      Clashes broke out between police and football fans in the streets of Trabzon after a match between rivals Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce was suspended due to fan violence, Monday.

      The referee was forced to halt the match after Trabzonspor fans pelted visiting Fenerbahce's players and staff with various objects.

      The match was suspended shortly before the half-time whistle when league leaders Fenerbahce's goalkeeper Volkan Demirel was showered with flares.
