Switzerland: BMW unveils 2-Series Active Tourer and 4-Series Gran Coupe

BMW presented the 2-Series Active Tourer and 4-Series Gran Coupe at the International Motor Show in Geneva on Tuesday. It is the first time the 2-Series Active Tourer has made an appearance in production form.

The vehicle will feature five seats at launch but this will be expanded to seven seats in 2015. The 218d variant on display at the show will come equipped with a four-cylinder turbocharged common rail diesel engine, with 150 horsepower and a peak torque of 330Nm. Colours on sale will include platinum silver, mineral white, sparking brown and imperial blue brilliant effect, while two wheel sizes will be available: 17 and 18 inches.

The 4-Series Gran Coupe will come as a 428i with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which produces 240 horsepower and a torque of 255. Alternatively, customers can opt for a 435i with a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six, which produces 300 horsepower. The 428i will be able to reach 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds, while the 435i will achieve the same result in 4.9 seconds. Both the 2-Series Active Tourer and 4-Series Gran Coupe will go on sale in 2014.
