Ukraine: Locals armed with batons volunteer to patrol Sevastopol
In response to recent deadly clashes in Ukraine, residents formed a 'Voluntary People's Squad' on Thursday, which will patrol the city of Sevastopol along routes decided by the police.
Around 200 volunteers in each of the city's four districts have already been approved to join the squads at their local police station.
The red armband mimics the uniform worn by the Voluntary People's Druzhina, which was a voluntary detachment that existed in the former Soviet Union.
