      Russia: Sochi super resort opens to press

      The Gorky Gorod resort in Sochi opened its doors for the press on Saturday, with the resort's Vice President of Operations and Development wecoming guests.

      The resort took 18 months to build and consists of nine hotels and a series of apartments, providing a total of 3,036 rooms to organisers and media representatives. It also boasts a series of restaurants and a 18,000 sq.m shopping centre.

      Situated in close proximity to a number of Olympic venues, Gorky Gorod also provides chair lift transfer to three levels (960m, 1460m and 2200m). It is also connected to a skiing area, which is accessible to tourists.
