Russia: Olympic media centre opens doors to unaccredited journalists

A 24-hour Olympic media centre opened its doors to journalists without accreditation from the International Olympic Committee on an embankment near the Sochi port on Monday, four days ahead of the official 2014 Winter Olympics kick-off.

Alexander Zhukov, president of the Russian Olympic Committee, toured around the newly opened venue. The centre has 288 work places, three conference halls, and meeting rooms with information and technological services to provide up-to-the-minute coverage of the Games.

The 'Gorky' Olympic media centre, located at the Mountain Cluster, was inaugurated on January 24.
