Switzerland: Al Gore praises EU climate change policy at Davos
Former US Vice-president Al Gore said that he is encouraged by EU's new climate change and energy policy, when speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Friday. He further said that the EU has received unfair criticism of late.
The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon used the platform to encourage world leaders to look beyond their borders when it comes to climate change, as it is global issue.
Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg made a sobering remark about the importance of targets and not rhetoric, saying: "The most important thing is that we don't end up with political goals that are good to make speeches on, but are not very easy to measure if the politicians and the national leaders who have made the decisions in fact can follow through."
