Switzerland: Syrian FM arrives in Montreux ahead of peace talks

The official Syrian government delegation arrived at the Grande Hotel Suisse Majestic in Montreux on Tuesday ahead of the Geneva II talks, which are to begin the following day.

Other conference attendees include U.S Secretary of State John Kerry, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and delegations from the Syrian opposition.

The UN withdrew an invitation for Iran to attend the peace talks on Monday evening after the Syrian National Coalition (SNC) threatened to pull out if the Islamic Republic attends. Following the UN's announcement, the SNC confirmed its participation.
