USA: 50 Cent touts live broadcast Hang W/ app

Hip-hop star 50 Cent talked tech with USA TODAY’s Jeff Graham at the 2014 International CES tech fair in Las Vegas on Thursday.

Curtis James Jackson III, also known as 50 Cent, spoke about his investment in Hang W/, an app that allows users to broadcast live mobile video in real time.

Said 50, "You can broadcast live for three minutes, six minutes or nine minutes. Like, I've utilised what- what Instagram would offer me to utilise in a short period of time."

He added, "Hang W/ allowed me enough period of time to present new music to my audience. So, I used it to, just to launch. And I feel like if you actually, for me it's cool, like I can literally use my telephone and show them you in real time and see how many people are following me. Like when you follow someone on other social networks, my phone gets a beep that someone that I'm following is online. And then if I wanna look, I can actually just look at what they're doing live, in real time."

Earlier in the week 50 Cent promoted his Audio company "SMS Audio" at CES, as well as limited-edition Star Wars earphones.
