Russia: Mourners respect Volgograd's dead with roses and candles

Mourners headed to Volgograd train station on Monday and placed flowers in respect of those killed in Sunday's blast. Roses, candles and photographs were placed on various memorials surrounding the train station, while security forces stood guard and secured the area.

With New Year celebrations still scheduled to take place, mass counter-terrorism measures have been implemented in Russia following the blasts. Over 260 stop-and-search groups and 142 investigative squads will be operating in Volgograd alone.

The first of Volgograd's killed are scheduled to be buried on Tuesday, while three more funerals are planned for Wednesday.
