Pakistan: Turkish PM Erdogan welcomed to Lahore with lavish ceremony

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Lahore on a two-day visit to the South Asian country of Pakistan on Monday. Erdogan is visiting with a delegation of Turkish businessmen in the hope of exploring potential areas of investment in the country, at the invitation of his counterpart, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The two countries are likely to reach a number of business agreements, including agreements on coal projects and the construction of dams.

The Turkish PM's Justice and Development Party are currently under pressure domestically following corruption allegations. Thousands took to the streets of Istanbul on Sunday to voice their anger over the charges.
