Egypt: Riot police storm university gates following student clashes
Several riot police vans arrived at Cairo University's campus on Tuesday in attempts to disperse the clashing pro-Muslim Brotherhood supporters and advocates of the Egyptian army.
Police entered the campus to find chaotic scenes of gunshots, fire and smoke. The officers drove through the university gates to enter the campus and as a result destroyed the doorways.
Following stone-throwing scuffles with pro-army students, the pro-Muslim Brotherhood students had destroyed a wall on the campus, uprooted tress and set fire to a security booth at the main gate of the university earlier on in afternoon.
