      Ukraine: European Square scrubbed clean following mass rally

      Cleaners began clearing Kiev's European Square of rubbish after pro-government protesters had vacated the scene following the end of their rally on Saturday. As cleaners swept and cleared the streets, riot police remained on guard.

      Earlier in the day, thousands of protesters had taken to the streets with Ukrainian and Party of Regions flags. Police made a barrier separating anti- and pro-government protesters. Despite the protest ending, police ensured the barrier remained firmly in place.

      Another rally by pro-government supporters is planned for Sunday.

      Ukraine: European Square scrubbed clean following mass rally
