Ukraine: 'Never said we refuse to step down from the Euro' -Yanukovych
As pro-EU protests entered into its' fourth week, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych participated in a national roundtable meeting called 'Lets Unite Ukraine' in Kiev on Friday.
The meeting took place at the Ukraine National Palace of Arts. Former Ukrainian Presidents Leonid Kravchuk, Viktor Yuschenko, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Rybak, and Communist Party leader Petro Symonenko were among the ministers attending the meeting. Champion boxer turned opposition leader Vitali Klitschko, who has been speaking at many Independence Square protests, was also in attendance.
President Yanukovych is expected to make a decision as to whether Ukraine continues to eschew the signing of the EU trade agreement, and whether he will join a Russian led Customs Union.
He said 'We never said we refuse to step down from the Euro integration path and we will continue working on reforms which will bring our country to the criteria demanded by Europe.'
