Ukraine: Barricades re-built harder, stronger, taller
Volunteering demonstrators began re-building barricades stronger and higher, Thursday, after police dismantled previous barricades the evening before. According to the protesters it took them one whole day to build it, although reinforcements continue to arrive.
Volunteers used metal constructions and welding to build the external barrier. Local residents of Kiev helped build the barricades supplying wheels, bags, metal work and wood from all around the city and suburbs.
Approximately 400 hundred people worked to build seven barricades located on the perimeter of Independence Square. Andrey, one of the volunteers says that for the last two days he slept only 40 minutes, daily and nightly he defends the barricade from possible police intervention.
