Ukraine: Police evict protesters from Mariinsky Park
Demonstraters were pushed out of Mariinsky Park in Kiev, Tuesday morning by riot police, after occupying the public space as part of a nationwide protest movement. A group of protesters marched through the streets of Kiev earlier Monday and were met by heavy police presence on the final day given by the court to demonstrators to leave buildings and stop picketing.
Protesters erected barricades and geared up with makeshift protective gear and weapons in preparation for potential clashes on Monday, obstacles which were partially dismantled by police cordons earlier on Tuesday.
