Italy: Clashes and teargas at tax cut protest in Turin
Thousands of people took to the streets of Turin on Monday to demand tax cuts for small businesses.
Stone-throwing protesters clashed with police who responded with tear gas in the centre of the northern Italian city. Demonstrators also blocked the city's main train stations and marched to the headquarters of Equitalia, a tax collection agency.
Many shops closed their shutters and in one incident violent protesters attacked a news van from Sky TG24.Protesters threw firecrackers and went on to hurl stones outside the Piedmont regional government headquarters, where around 2000 people rallied.
Similar rallies took place elsewhere on the same day in Italy, in cities including Rome, Milan and Bolonga.
