Russia: Putin receives heroes of Russia and USSR in Kremlin
Russian President Vladimir Putin held reception for heroes of Russia and USSR in Georgievsky hall of Kremlin on Monday.
Over 300 people attended the reception, among them bearers of such awards as Hero of Russia, Hero of USSR, Order of Saint George (highest purely military decoration) and Order of Glory (military decoration of the Soviet Union).
Putin held a brief speech to congratulate the honorary guests on the Day of heroes of Homeland, which is celebrated on December 9, starting 2007. Later on he joined the guests for an informal talk at the reception.
