      The heaviest snowfall of the season so far snarled traffic in Moscow Thursday, though many locals seem unaffected by the wintry deluge.

      Forecasters say the snowpack may reach six centimetres (2.35 inches) by evening. At the same time, strong winds and temperatures hovering right around freezing have made road conditions treacherous.

      Moscow averages around 72 days of snow per year, including 17 in December.
