Thailand: Street violence to street party as truce agreed

Supporters and demonstrators participating in Thailand's recent anti-government protests took to the streets of Bangkok to celebrate victory, Tuesday.

Street kitchens began handing out food in solidarity to protesters. Within six hours, Bangkok's police district turned from an abandoned high security zone into an area of celebrations.

Results of the negotiations are as yet unconfirmed but with some reports of a temporary truce being agreed. Thursday marks the birthday of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, traditionally a day of prayer and celebration.
