Thailand: Police use tear gas to clear protesters

Bangkok saw ongoing anti-government protests, Monday, with police continuing to fire tear gas into crowds in an attempt to disperse demonstrators.

Protests in Thailand have been continuous since a government attempt to pass an amnesty law sparked clashes between rival groups. Activists say the law is a thinly veiled ploy to allow the return of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who is currently in self-imposed exile following a conviction for corruption.
