Latvia: Firefighters hunt for supermarket collapse survivors
Emergency services personnel continued to search for survivors beneath a collapsed supermarket roof in Riga, early Friday morning.
The roof caved in on Thursday evening, leaving a reported six people dead and around 50 people trapped under the debris. Thirty-two people are reported injured so far. Two of the dead are rescue workers who died in a second collapse, according to local media.
According to Deputy Mayor Andris Ameriks an explosion may have been the cause of the collapse. Firefighters, ambulance service and police are working at the site trying to reach trapped people.
